A convoy of miles of Smiles (35) arrived in the Gaza Strip on Monday, through the Rafah border crossing, as part of the convoy´s ongoing work and to inspect the health conditions in the sector.
"The purpose of the visit is to learn about the needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and to look at the mechanism for supporting the health sector, especially hospitals and health centres that are unable to Provide its services as a result of the scarcity of fuel required to operate its generators ".
"The visit comes amid worsening humanitarian conditions, high rates of poverty and unemployment, which have increased the complexities of life and the suffering of the people in Gaza," he said.
Yusuf stressed the need to immediately seek to support the people of the sector in every way possible, save and maintain their lives, especially at the current stage where Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian crisis amounting to a disaster.
He called on all those who could provide medicine, treatment and other basic human needs for the Gaza Strip.
A few days ago, Yusuf launched a campaign calling for $1, 000 to buy fuel for hospitals, carrying the slogan "$1000 buys 150 liters of fuel", with the aim of alleviating the crisis that threatens the lives of patients in the Gaza Strip.
