The Brazilian Ministry of Health launched a new website on Friday to track the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
The platform, hosted on "susanalitico.saude.gov.br", displays the number of recovery cases as well as those monitored, as well as graphs showing the number of daily deaths from the disease and the number of deaths per 100,000 people - factors that help determine the degree of infection.
Through the new platform, users can also search for cases by region based on information provided by ministries of health in different states.
Acting Health Minister Eduardo Pazuelo announced on Tuesday that the new platform would allow experts and officials to analyze the case curve by state and municipality, which would help them better combat the disease.
On Thursday evening, Brazil reported 1,239 new deaths and 30,412 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. In total, the country recorded 802,828 cases and 40,919 deaths from the disease.
