Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesman for the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, said this evening, Monday, that the spread of the virus is expanding in the Gaza Strip, and there are new areas that are classified as red, which led to its rise to 25 areas.
Al-Qudra expected, in a radio interview, that more injuries would be recorded during the coming days and period, indicating that the main problem is in the citizens ’treatment and lack of commitment.
He said, "The more commitment from the citizens, the more we break the severity of the epidemic in the Gaza Strip."
"There have been great efforts made to educate citizens about the commitment to preventive measures," he added.
He pointed out that there is a state of recklessness and unjustified laxity despite the existence of awareness campaigns, indicating that the most effective way to break the spread is to raise awareness among citizens.
He called on citizens to be seriously committed to health controls in their daily lives.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the health situation is painful as a result of the ongoing siege on the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the increase in injuries is putting pressure on the health system, indicating that there are 148 moderate to severe hypnotic cases inside the European Gaza Hospital, and thus there is a depletion of the clinical capacity.
And he indicated that the aid received does not meet the minimum set of the plan, and home quarantine measures have been initiated to relieve pressure and enhance the capacity of the health system.
"The health system is still able to deal with the recorded injuries, but the increase in injuries will put pressure on it and affect its work," Al-Qudra said.
