Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Fadi Al-Hidmi said today, Thursday, that the Israeli occupation authorities have demolished 115 buildings in East Jerusalem since the beginning of this year.
Al-Hadmi said in a statement after his meeting with the Spanish Consul General in Jerusalem Ignacio García Valdkasas, that most of the aforementioned demolitions took place during the past few months.
Al-Hudmi warned of the dangerous situation in the city of Jerusalem, in light of the dangerous escalation in the demolition of Palestinian homes, in parallel with the escalation of Israeli settlement activity on the city´s lands.
Al-Hidmi confirmed that the home demolitions are a flagrant violation of international law, accusing Israel of deliberately escalating demolitions in light of the spread of the Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Fatwa Council in Palestine affirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is "for Muslims alone, no one participates in it, and it can be visited by those who come from the Palestinian legal gate, or through Jordan, which has custody of the Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem."

In its statement, the Council reaffirmed that Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque "are suffering under the Israeli occupation and that any individual or group visit to them should be free from any measure that is in the interest of normalizing Muslims´ relations with the occupation."
The council warned that the Israeli occupation authorities would silently implement the deal of the century (the American peace plan), taking advantage of international silence and the Arab scramble for normalization, and the spread of Corona disease in the region and the whole world.
