The captive club said today, Tuesday, that the Israeli occupation forces have arrested more than 600 Jerusalemites since the beginning of the year 2020, during daily arrests of all groups, including children and boys.
The captive club added that, despite the continued spread of the epidemic, the occupation authorities continued their arrest campaigns and targeting the Jerusalem community with all forms of abuse, especially daily and frequent arrests, the last of which was at dawn today, when the Israeli occupation forces launched an arrest campaign, which affected at least (13) citizens, Among them is the Secretary-General of the National People´s Congress of Jerusalem, Major General Bilal Al-Natsheh, and the director of his office Moaz Al-Ashhab, in addition to Major General Imad Awad.
The campaign of arrests also affected the activist and Jerusalemite writer Rania Hatem, Mustafa Abu Zahra, Jad al-Ghoul and the journalist Tamer Obaidat, and six other citizens from the town of Al-Issawiya were arrested: Mahmoud Ramadan Obaid, Mahmoud Muhammad Obaid, Dhiya Ayman Ubaid, Amir Awad, and Youssef Ali Al-Kiswani and Abboud Derbas.
Al-Asir Club pointed out that during this year, the occupation continued to implement the repeated arrests of Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Fadi Al-Hadmi, the last of which was at the beginning of last April, pointing out that the arrests in Jerusalem are the highest compared to other governorates, which were concentrated since the middle of Last year in the town of Issawiya.
