The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs stated, after its lawyer Karim Ajwa visited "Ashkelon" prison, that the isolated prisoner, Zakaria Zubeidi (45 years), from Jenin camp, is still suffering from harsh isolation conditions in order to tighten the noose around him and keep him away from prison. Claiming his minimum rights, which are guaranteed by international laws and regulations.

The authority added that the prisoner Al-Zubaidi said that when he was transferred to the isolation of Ashkelon, he was initially placed in a very bad and smelly isolation room equipped with cameras, which is the same room in which the prisoner Ahmed Manasra was isolated , indicating that after hours he was transferred to another room.

Al-Zubaidi to Ajwa, that there are continuous inspections of the isolation room in which it is located, where inspections are carried out on a daily basis, in addition to weekly inspections by the units of the prison administration.

Also, the prison administration does not allow him to go out to Al-Fora Square for only one hour, and with regard to the food provided by the administration, the prisoner Al-Zubaidi described it as bad.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces arrested Zubeidi on January 27, 2019 after storming the city of Ramallah. He is also one of the six prisoners who managed to extract their freedom from Gilboa prison during the month of September. He was re-arrested by the occupation army along with his fellow captive Muhammad al-Ardah. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of 5,000 shekels, with a stay of execution from 8 months to 3 years, near the village of Umm al-Ghanam in the Lower Galilee.
