Mohammed Mohsen Saidam, a 26-year-old resident of The Nusseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, invented the "Corona Smart Medal" to maintain social spacing, an alarm that hangs in the neck and triggers an alert signal if the wearer approaches less than one meter.
It took a young pharmacist, a graduate of "Mechatronx Engineering", about a month to manufacture the medal of electronic pieces and wireless sensors he kept in his own workshop to come up with this innovation, which he hopes will get a patent, as it offers a scientific device with additional features, namely the advantage of wireless charging of smartphones and an automated hand sanitation device.
"Due to the Corona crisis and the increase in casualties due to heavy traffic, especially what I see in the Nusseirat camp where I live, I felt the danger of people not committing themselves to social spacing to prevent the new Corona epidemic, and I wanted to contribute to the awareness of something practical that contributes to the achievement of separation in order to preserve people´s health," said Cheb Saidam.
He added: "I invented a medallion attached to the neck to enshrine the principle of spacing a meter between the person and the other, through an alarm (sensor) that triggers an alarm signal, if someone approaches you less than a meter, and added a feature that enables you to charge your smartphone, in addition to a container of sterile liquid operated by a sensitive system if your hands approach it."
Saidam explained that he chose to design the medallion among several designs, for easy carrying on the neck, in addition to its aesthetic look, pointing out that it consists of a space separation sensor, a sterilizer, a programming piece, a key with a battery, and a wireless charging, covered with a plastic cover.
He pointed out that the cost of making the medal amounted to 80 shekels, and that if the entity adopted this project and produced quantities of it, the cost will be reduced, pointing out that he is now working to register it as a patent as well as to adopt it from a technological company to manufacture quantities of them and start marketing them in the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that since graduating from university, he did not stop trying to invent as needed, as a hobby and great pleasure for him, before the "medal" he invented the "Car Corona Smart", a device controlled by computer or mobile, carrying sterile materials that run inside facilities that need to be sterilized without the need for human intervention, which will reduce the chances of workers infecting the corona virus.
He pointed out that this hobby he had since he was young, where he was able in the preparatory stage to prepare an educational legend about earthquakes, which received a lot of encouragement from his teachers, and that he was using the school leave to go to a workshop for his uncles to practice his hobby in the manufacture of technological technologies, he made in his 16th year a juice machine, a machine to generate electricity.
He explained that after his success in high school and achieving a 91% approval rating, he chose to specialize in mecronix engineering, so that he could combine the innate hobby with the best scientific knowledge in this vast world.

He expressed his pride in the invention of 25 devices and tools to facilitate life and achieve multiple goals, through his own operator cut it from his family´s small house, pointing to his invention of a computer-based wood drilling printer, then a 3D printer that won first place in a local competition, a smart blind stick device that includes a driver alert light, an electric charging unit, gps location system and a welding machine.

Engineer Saidam said that he is currently working on a special device for manufacturing, expressing the hope that it will mark a turning point in his career and a major benefit to institutions and society, refusing to disclose more details about his new invention.
The young saedem stressed that he is on his way, despite the scarcity of possibilities and conditions of the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, which hinder the access of some possibilities and materials, as well as the lack of financial support, as these inventions have a high financial cost that can barely cover their expenses, and called on his peers not to give in to reality and continue to try and experiment and pursue their hobbies and dreams in pursuit of them in the hope of a better future.
