A slight rise in wheat prices in the Chicago Board of trade affected by export sales to Egypt

The Chicago Trade Council´s agricultural futures were closed on Friday, amid a slight rise in wheat prices, influenced by US export sales to Egypt.

The most active maize prices in December contracts fell by 2.75 cents or 76 percent to close at 3.59 US dollars for the bushel (cereal). The price of wheat for decades in March 2019 rose by 0.5 cents or 0.1 percent to stabilize at 5.0725 dollars. The prices of soybean contracts for January 2019 fell by 2 cents or 0.23 percent to settle at 8.81 dollars per bushel.

The Chicago Board of Commerce brokers reported that the funds sold 2,500 maize and 2300 soybean contracts, while 2,100 bought out wheat contracts.

The wheat market opened much higher after Egypt purchased two shipments of US wheat in a tender for Thanksgiving on Thursday. Egyptian orders for us, Russian and Romanian wheat have boosted world wheat prices.

The wheat futures closed the session at a slight height, after some early gains were abandoned.

As of November 16, the production of us ethanol from maize fell to its lowest level in a month, while stocks were also the lowest on a weekly basis, according to a recent report by the U.S. Energy Information Department.

Amid uncertainty about the prospects for the export of soybeans in the United States, the futures of Oilseeds declined again.

On Friday, the US National Meteorological Service issued warnings of a winter storm in the area from West Nebraska to western Illinois, where there will be snowfall starting from Saturday evening until the afternoon

Sunday.

The storm may slow down the harvest for the last 10 percent of the maize and soybean crops still in the fields.
