Australian media reported, today, Sunday, that a man was killed in a shark attack in Western Australia state.
The national "ABC" channel reported that the police had been alerted about a serious shark attack in "Cable Beach" in Broome early Sunday morning.
The Australian Associated Press said that the victim´s body was recovered from the water, and his death was announced at the site of the accident.
The beach has been closed to the public, and the area is currently under surveillance by a patrol fishery ship, according to the Western Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
This year is one of the worst years in which Australia has witnessed a large number of shark attacks, as it reached eight attacks after recording today´s incident.
