A martyr shot by the occupation in the southern Gaza Strip

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced Friday the death of 16-year-old Fahad Mohammed Walid al-Astal, shot dead by Israeli soldiers east of Khan Younis.

The health said that the young man was shot in the abdomen.

Five different injuries were sustained at the European Gaza Hospital from east Of Khanyounis, after the occupation fired at a group of youths.

The Return Marches Authority has already announced the postponement of the weekly protests scheduled for Friday for the third week in a row, due to Israeli "threats" to target protesters after Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a government headed by him.

The Supreme Commission for Return Marches, formed by factions, civil and human rights groups, said in a statement that Netanyahu "seeks to export his internal crisis to the Gaza Strip in order to shed the blood of innocent participants in the return marches, especially after he failed to form a government headed by him that protects him from prosecution."

"In the interest of missing this opportunity for the enemy and the far-right alliance and its criminal army, it was decided to postpone the return marches that were scheduled for today," the commission added.

She stressed that the resolution "is not linked to any understandings here or there, our connection and our national responsibility will continue to be aimed at upholding the principles of our people and their right to resist, and also to preserve the blood of our people from any attempts at Israeli treachery."

"All the responsible decisions that you make in the light of this dangerous moment and linked to the straining of aggression with our people are decisions stemming from the importance of thwarting the objectives and malicious attempts of occupation to single out our people in the context of political recruitment," she said.

"The return marches are continuing and continuing in their peaceful popular nature," the authority stressed.
The postponement of return marches on the outskirts of the Gaza Strip near the separation fence with Israel for the third week in a row is a precedent since the marches began at the end of March 2018.

The return marches began on March 30, 2018, to demand the lifting of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip since mid-2007 and to affirm the right of return of Palestinian refugees.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 313 Palestinians, including 61 children and 12 females, were killed and more than 34,000 injured, including more than 18,000 who have been hospitalized since the return marches began.
