A martyr and a serious injury east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip

A civilian was killed and another critically injured on Saturday evening, January 18, 2020, east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.


In a brief statement, the Ministry of Health confirmed the death of Mehdi Eid Ermilat, 36, and the serious injury of another civilian east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.


Local Radio Al-Aqsa, citing security sources, denied any Israeli targeting east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.


The radio said that "a suspicious object was detonated as a result of the occupation, while two citizens were carrying out a planting operation on agricultural land east of Gaza airport, resulting in one of them rising and seriously injuring the other."


She added that The Martyr Ramlat arrived at Abu Yusuf al-Najjar Hospital with a dead body, while the injured man was transferred to the European hospital in Khanyounis in a critical condition.
