The Public Relations and Information Unit in the Jerusalem Governorate monitored the violations of the Israeli occupation in the occupied capital during the first quarter of this year 2021 AD, and the most prominent of these violations was the martyrdom of the freed prisoner, Muhammad Salah al-Din (20 years), on the eleventh. The first quarter of this year witnessed violations against Jerusalem personalities and leaders, headed by His Excellency the Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, in March, receiving a renewal of four military decisions against him, the last of which was preventing him from entering the West Bank and reaching his workplace in the town of Al-Ram, in addition to other decisions that prevent him from communicating with 51 Palestinian figures headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh, and a number of members of the Fatah Central Committee and Palestinian security and national leaders, and another decision preventing him from moving or being in the city of Jerusalem except for his place of residence in Silwan, and a fourth decision preventing him from participating in Any activities, events, or gatherings within the so-called "State of Israel". The occupation authorities also handed over the Secretary of the Fatah Movement in Jerusalem, Shadi Mutour, a decision preventing him from communicating with 21 personalities in January, in addition to a series of decisions issued against him, including his deportation from the West Bank.
In February, the occupation authorities renewed the house arrest against the leader of Jerusalem, Abdul Latif Ghaith, who is 80 years old, under the pretext of carrying out activities that pose a threat to the security of the occupation. In March, the head of the Supreme Islamic Authority and the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri (84 years), delivered a decision banning him from traveling for a period of two months.
With regard to demolitions, 74 demolitions were recorded during the first quarter of this year, 51 demolitions were carried out by the occupation mechanisms, half of which were in January, in addition to 23 self-demolition operations, 13 of which were in March. The demolitions carried out by the occupation vehicles included 17 houses, 11 commercial establishments, 12 houses for "caravans", 6 farms for raising animals, 5 fences, 5 tents, 3 building bases, in addition to two gas stations, a cave and a bastion for the sale of coffee and tea, which have been in existence for more than half a century. . As for the self-demolition operations, it included 15 houses and an external room, 3 commercial establishments, a building base, a farm for raising animals, a workshop, a restaurant, and a "caravan" that was used as a mosque to serve the people of Al-Jib town.
The Occupation Court also issued 129 eviction and demolition decisions during the first quarter of this year. In January, a decision was issued against the family of the citizen Nizam Abu Ramz from the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in the town of Silwan "in favor of settlers", and a decision to evacuate the home of the Alyan family from the village of Beit Safafa in a month February under the pretext of "non-payment of taxes", in addition to 7 eviction decisions in February and March against 7 families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. In March, the occupation authorities issued 120 demolition decisions, 100 of which were in the Al Bustan neighborhood only.
As for the arrests, the Public Relations and Information Unit monitored 465 arrests, including 24 women, and it is noteworthy that the majority of the detainees are of the young age group between the ages of 15 to 25 years, and January was the month with the highest record of arrests, with 175 arrests.
The Public Relations and Information Unit also monitored 35 home detention decisions, for periods varying between five days until they reach an open period, and the highest record of these decisions was in the month of March, with 19 decisions.
The occupation authorities issued 47 deportation decisions, 7 of which were against women, and February witnessed the highest record of deportation decisions, with 22 decisions for deportation. Among these decisions, 30 decisions were issued for deportation from Al-Aqsa Mosque and 16 decisions for deportation from the place of residence.
23 gunshot wounds were detected, including 3 injuries with live bullets during the first quarter of this year, in addition to dozens of injuries with tear gas, pepper gas and stun grenades, not to mention their use of wastewater vehicles towards citizens, during the provocative incursions carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in the towns and neighborhoods of the province .
The occupation authorities carried out 6 operations of confiscation of property that included a counter, sanitary facilities, picnic equipment, crackers, printers and computers, in addition to bulldozers and tractors from a brick factory.
As for the settlers´ attacks in Jerusalem during the first quarter, 18 attacks (carried out by settlers) were monitored against many religious places and public places, including three attacks on the Romanian Orthodox Church, and 13 attacks on Jerusalemites and journalists, which caused a number of citizens to be seriously injured. , Plus racist slogans and smash-and-spoilers for dozens of vehicles.
Regarding the Al-Aqsa incursions, the Public Relations and Information Unit monitored the storming of more than 6,200 Jewish settlers and students to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first quarter of this year, the highest of which was in the month of March when more than 3,800 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa, “under the pretext of Jewish holidays.” The incursions are divided into the morning and evening periods, and it is reported that the periods of the incursions coincide with preventing residents and worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque.
As for the attacks on holy sites, in January the occupation authorities prevented the staff of the Al-Aqsa Mosque reconstruction committee from carrying out restoration work and entering the necessary materials, and threatened workers with arrest and deportation in the event of the completion of the restoration work, despite the fact that its mechanisms and bulldozers did not stop the excavation works located at the bottom of the Holy Mosque. Especially in Al-Buraq Square, which witnessed during January an escalation and intensification of drilling operations.
The occupation municipality has also embarked on implementing a new phase of the soothing light rail project that penetrates the East Jerusalem neighborhoods, specifically Shuafat and Beit Hanina. The occupation municipality revealed a project to establish a sports complex of four dunums on confiscated land owned by Palestinian citizens on the side adjacent to Qalandia airport on the Kafr Aqab side.
