A man is flying in the air using a jetpack in Los Angeles

For the second time in weeks, a person was seen flying over the Los Angeles skyline using a jetpack, prompting the authorities to conduct an investigation.

The crew of a Chinese commercial plane reported an unusual sight on Wednesday afternoon, in which the person flew at an approximate altitude of 1,828 meters, about 11 kilometers north of Los Angeles International Airport, according to a statement issued by the US Federal Aviation Authority on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the authority said, "The Federal Aviation Authority has notified local law enforcement authorities and will look into the report."

This incident is the second reported by a person carrying a backpack, a jetliner, while flying near commercial aircraft in Los Angeles, after the Federal Aviation Authority confirmed that a similar accident occurred last September.

It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
