Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stormed Sunday evening the ancient village of Susiya in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
Our correspondent reported that Netanyahu accompanied by a large number of settlers stormed the ancient village of Susya, in light of strict military measures imposed by the occupation forces. These included closing the al-Musafir area and declaring it a closed military zone, and military checkpoints to prevent solidarity activists and press crews from reaching the area.
Before Netanyahu stormed the village, the occupation forces had suppressed a mass march in Masafir Yatta, in opposition to the prospect of the occupation government’s incursion into the ancient village of Susiya, which is one of dozens of villages and ruins located in the area.
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms Netanyahu´s storming of "Khirbet Susiya" in a traveler of Yatta, south of Hebron, under the pretext of participating in the opening of an alleged "archaeological site" belonging to one of the settlements lying on Palestinian land. The incursion program included a number of meetings with settler leaders and listened to Their demands regarding (regularizing) the outposts.
In a statement, the ministry said: Netanyahu´s assault on Susya opens the appetite of extremist settlers to commit more violations, attacks and crimes against Palestinian citizens and to plunder and steal more Palestinian land in that strategic and sensitive area, and gives them cover, protection and legitimacy for their expansionist colonial projects.
