Dozens of Jewish extremists, along with employees of the occupation government, on Sunday stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem, amid tight security escorts by the occupation police and its armed special forces.
According to our correspondent, al-Aqsa was stormed by the "Bab al-Maghrib" under occupation since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967.
According to the Islamic Waqf department in Jerusalem, 59 settlers and 20 employees of the occupation government broke into al-Aqsa and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards.
Jerusalem sources noted that the incursions were part of a campaign called by settlers to escalate the incursions into Al-Aqsa, coinciding with the Hebrew "Hanukkah", which falls from today and for a week.
Last week, more than 400 Jewish extremists stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and staged provocative tours in its courtyards and near the Bab al-Rahma chapel in eastern Al-Aqsa.
Since 2003, Israeli police have allowed settlers to storm the mosque through the Door of the Moroccans, all days of the week except on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, which is responsible for managing the mosque´s affairs, is demanding a halt to the incursions, but the Israeli police have not responded to the request.
The occupation police allow Jewish extremists to storm al-Aqsa on two periods, the first from 7:30 a.m. and lasting about 4 hours (morning) and the second starting after noon prayers and continuing for an hour and a half (evening).
Extremists usually break into al-Aqsa´s courtyards on the one hand and march on paths and organize lullaby tours inside it to the exit area of Bab al-Sa´idah, which is usually witnessed by provocations by Muslim worshippers and attacks.
