Dozens of Jewish settlers stormed the al-Aqsa mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem on Sunday morning, after being protected by the Israeli occupation police.
According to a source in the Islamic Waqf, 59 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque and toured their courtyards amid receiving explanations about the alleged "structure".
He explained that the settlers performed Taloudi rituals near the "Bab al-Rahma " (Eastern region of the Al-Aqsa Mosque) by protecting elements of the Israeli police and the heavily armed special forces.
Israeli forces accompanied the settlers from the moment they stormed the mosque from the "Bab al-Mughrabi" until they left the "Bab al-Series".
The number of settlers will rise during the daytime hours because the Israeli occupation police allow settlers a second round of storming, following the completion of Zuhr prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Israeli police continued to tighten its procedures at the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, detaining some of the identities of worshippers and giving them colour cards instead, to ensure that they were not tied up in the mosque.
