5 kilograms of "Moon " sold over half a million dollars

A piece of the moon weighing 5.5 kilograms that landed on the ground was sold at an auction in the United States of over 600,000 dollars .

The auction house "r ", based in Boston, declared that the winning tender amounted to 612500 dollars against the lunar meteor consisting of six fragments, which took a shape similar to the models of the puzzle, and had a representative of Tam Chowk Pagoda located in Ha Nam Province in Vietnam.

The  "r " predicted that the lunar meteor would achieve 500,000 dollars in the auction.

The lunar meteor was found last year in a remote area of Mauritania, Northwest Africa.

 

It is one of the most important lunar meteorites found thanks to its size and the presence of a "partially molten crust" resulting from the immense heat that burnt the rock when it fell on the ground.

بيعت قطعة من القمر تزن 5.5 كيلوغرام كانت سقطت على الأرض، في مزاد بالولايات المتحدة بما يزيد على 600 ألف دولار.

وأعلنت دار المزادات "آر آر"، ومقرها في بوسطن، أن العطاء الفائز بلغ 612500 دولار مقابل النيزك القمري المكون من ست شظايا والتي اتخذت شكلا يشبه مجسمات الأحجية، وكان لممثل عن مجمع تام تشوك باغودا الكائن في مقاطعة ها نام في فيتنام.

وكانت "آر آر" توقعت أن يحقق النيزك القمري 500 ألف دولار في المزاد.

عثر على النيزك القمري العام الماضي في منطقة نائية بموريتانيا شمال غربي أفريقيا.

ويعد من أهم النيازك القمرية التي عثر عليها بفضل حجمه ولوجود "قشرة منصهرة جزئيا" نتجت عن الحرارة الهائلة التي أحرقت الصخرة لدى سقوطها على الأرض.
