At least five people were killed on Monday night and two others were wounded, as a result of an explosion that occurred on a road in the city of Doble in Lower Juba region in southern Somalia, a local official confirmed.
Mohamed Hassan, Governor of Doble, said that the explosion occurred due to the explosion of a landmine planted on the side of the road, targeting a car that was passing in the area, which resulted in losses.
"Five people on board the bus died at the site of the accident, while two pedestrians were injured," Hassan added.
And Hassan added that the explosion occurred near the city of Tabto, northeast of Doble, where witnesses in the area say they heard a loud explosion.
No group has claimed responsibility for this incident, but Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Shabaab has launched similar attacks in the past.
