41 injured, including 22 children, and critical cases as a result of the occupation’s suppression of a demonstration on the Gaza border

41 citizens were injured, this evening, Saturday, as the occupation forces suppressed dozens of demonstrators who approached the security fence east of Gaza City.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, two of the injured are in critical condition, one of which is a 13-year-old boy who was hit in the head, noting that among the injured are 22 children.

She pointed out that 35 injuries were described as moderate, 4 in minor cases, and of the total injuries, 27 were in the lower extremities, 2 in the upper extremities, 2 in the abdomen and back, 4 injuries to the head and neck, and 6 injuries in different parts of the body.

According to our correspondent in Gaza, fellow journalist Assem Shehadeh, a photographer for the National Agency, was among the injured, noting that he was hit by shrapnel from an Israeli sniper during his coverage of the events.The Israeli occupation army radio confirmed that the army used the sniper rifle "Roger" to target the demonstrators for allegedly throwing explosive devices.

Dozens of young men advanced towards the security fence and lit some rubber tires, while some climbed the fence and raised the Palestinian flag, while the occupation forces fired live and rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the demonstrators.

Thousands participated in a mass festival called by the factions in the Malaka Square area to the east of Gaza City, near the border with the occupation, in memory of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Spokesmen for the Palestinian factions said before the start of the festival, that it is the first event that the factions will continue with until their demands are met to break the siege on the Gaza Strip.
