By the end of 2020, a report monitored the martyrdom of 4 Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, and the arrest of more than 4,600 others this year.
The Prisoners Affairs Authority, Prisoner Club, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Foundation, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Silwan said in a joint report that during the past year, Israel had continued "a policy of systematic abuse and its systematic violations of prisoners´ rights."
According to the report, a number of violations topped the reality of the issue of prisoners in Israeli prisons, especially with the spread of the Corona virus and the transformations that accompanied the epidemic, through a set of measures imposed by the prison administration and contributed to the worsening of detention conditions.
The report stated that, during 2020, Israel arrested about 4,634 Palestinians, including 543 children, and 128 women, and the number of administrative detention orders issued reached 1114 administrative detention orders.
According to the report, by the end of this year, the number of Palestinian prisoners reached about 4,400, of whom 40 were female, while the number of children and minors was about 170 children, and the number of administrative detainees reached 380.
The number of prisoners who were sentenced to life imprisonment reached 543, including five, during the year 2020, while the number of sick prisoners reached nearly 700, including nearly 300 chronic and serious illness.
