During last January, the Gaza Strip witnessed the birth of 3391 newborns, compared to 338 deaths.
According to the statistics issued by the General Administration of Civil Status at the Ministry of Interior - the civil side in the Gaza Strip, the number of male births reached 1,782, with a rate of 52.5%, while the number of females reached 1609, or 47.5%.
The Gaza governorate registered 1219 births, the North Gaza governorate 563, while the Al Wusta Governorate had registered 510 births, the Khan Yunis district had recorded 702, and the Rafah district 397.
Regarding the number of deaths, the Civil Status reported that its offices in the governorates of the Strip recorded 338 deaths during the past month, of which 199 were males, a rate of approximately 59%, while the number of female deaths reached 139 deaths, a rate of approximately 41%.
