The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Sunday it had recorded 257 deaths from a diphtheria epidemic in nearly two years in Yemen.
The organization said in its account on the site (Twitter), it had "vaccinated 3.4 million children against diphtheria in 186 districts around Yemen."
"We still have to do more," she said.
The total number of suspected diphtheria cases was 4,541 while 257 related deaths were recorded during the period 12 August 2017 to 12 October 2019, according to the statement.
Yemen is witnessing an outbreak of a number of epidemic diseases as a result of the bloody conflict that Yemen has been going through since the end of 2014.
