162 new Jewish immigrants arrived in Israel today, Thursday, from the Ethiopian capital, Addis Baba.
According to the Hebrew Ynet website, the new immigrants arrived on a flight, which is the fifth that takes Falasha Jews from Ethiopia to Tel Aviv, as part of an Israeli government plan to bring in 3000 Jews.
The site indicated that by the end of this month, the number of arrivals to Israel will reach 2000 Jewish immigrants from Ethiopia.
The arrivals will be placed in isolation for two weeks, and then transferred to a special accommodation center before they are reunited with their families.
Official Israeli data showed that about 20 thousand Jewish immigrants arrived in Israel last year, 2020, from 70 countries.
