Ten militants of the Islamic State or what is known for short as (ISIS) and a member of the Popular Mobilization were killed in the bombing and bombing of Iraqi army aircraft north of Baghdad.
The Popular Mobilization said, in a statement, today (Sunday), that "the forces of the 44th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization were able to kill seven members of the remnants of (ISIS) terrorist during clash with the terrorist organization´s elements in the island of Hatra," west of Mosul, the center of Nineveh Governorate, north of Baghdad.
The statement added that the killing resulted in the killing of one of the crowd members and the injury of eight others, as two explosive belts exploded while trying to storm an ISIS tunnel.
In the same context, Major General Yahya Rasoul, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, announced, in a statement, that "the army heroes managed to destroy a vehicle and kill three (ISIS) terrorist gangs, while carrying out the duty of armed reconnaissance, search and inspection within the Nineveh Operations Command, north of Baghdad".
On December 9, 2017, Iraq announced the expulsion of ISIS and the imposition of full control over all Iraqi lands, but sleeper cells affiliated with the organization are still active in some areas of the country.
