Jerusalemites awoke, today, Thursday, to one of the largest transfers of real estate to settlers since the occupation of the city in 1967, when settlers seized three residential buildings and a plot of land in the central neighborhood in the town of Silwan, south of the Old City of Jerusalem.
The people of Silwan were in a state of shock and anger after several people leaked real estate to the settlement "Ateret Cohenim", and the families of those involved soon declared their innocence.
The Israeli police and special forces closed the area and the roads leading to it, and spread extensively around the leaked buildings, transporting security "caravans" and placing them on the ground and above one of the buildings, while dozens of members of the "Ateret Cohenim" settlement association entered these buildings and transported equipment to them.
With the help of the police, the Special Forces set up surveillance cameras, and installed the core of a military barrier and a monitoring point for the police and security companies that are active in Silwan to protect settlers.
Jawad Siyam, director of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, said that more than 100 settlers, accompanied by policemen, workers and settlers, stormed at 2 am in the middle neighborhood in the town of Silwan, and entered a plot of land and 3 residential buildings in the area "where their owners were not present and were uninhabited." .
He explained that the settlers placed two residential rooms inside the plot of land, and a prepared staircase, and also put surveillance cameras on residential buildings, opened a new entrance to one of the buildings, and installed surveillance cameras on residential buildings, and opened a new entrance to one of the buildings, indicating that the number of settlement outposts in the Batn neighborhood Hawa in Silwan increased to 12 outposts and a plot of land.
Regarding the ownership of the leaked real estate, the center explained that two of the buildings belong to the Awad family, and each one consists of 4 floors, while the third belongs to Mustafa Abu Diab, and it consists of 4 floors and a settlement.
The Awad family, who lives in an adjacent building, says that about 4 months ago, it sold them to Abdullah Al-Rishq and Mahmoud Shawamreh, and was unaware of their leakage, pointing out that one of the terms of the sale agreement stipulates that "the Awad family should be reviewed in any future sale and not sold to Jews ".
As for the plot of land, which covers an area of ​​about half a dunum, it belongs to the Abu Subeih family, who said they sold it to Ghassan Sayed Ahmed.
The Center noted the information that this is the largest leak in Silwan.
The families that owned the properties condemned the leakage, and declared in their statements their innocence of those who said they were involved in this.
