Gaza Health Authority receives a device to examine laboratory surveys and other medical aid

he Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Sunday, that it had received a device for examining laboratory surveys (PCR) from the World Health Organization.

The Director General of International Cooperation, Abdul Latif Al-Hajj, praised the actions of the World Health Organization and their various interventions in the context of supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Health to confront the Covid 19 pandemic.

"This device, which will be a good addition to the work of the central laboratory," he said, calling on all relevant authorities to work to support the efforts of the Ministry of Health in order to fulfill the health services related to the Covid 19 pandemic.

For his part, Director General of Technical Support Units, Ayman Al-Halabi, said that the new device will enhance the work of health teams working in the central laboratory, as the device is a duplicate of the device that the Ministry of Health received from the Qatar National Committee for Gaza Reconstruction, and it prepares samples in the first stage before reading Results in no more than 24 minutes.

For his part, Director of the World Health Office in Gaza, Abdel Nasser Subuh, said that what distinguishes the new device is its ability to prepare and examine 100 samples, and it is part of the support group provided by the World Health Organization to the Ministry of Health to enhance its efforts in examination, isolation and treatment.

Subuh expressed his hope that the new device would contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the central laboratory and laboratory tests.

In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza received medical aid consisting of 10 respirators and protective clothing for health personnel, provided by the Gaza Lovers Malaysia Foundation, and a grouping of Malaysian institutions, to strengthen efforts to confront the Covid 19 pandemic.
