Abdel Nasser Farwana, a specialist in prisoner and freedmen affairs, said that the occupation forces arrested 15 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in nine separate incidents and at different periods during the month of September.
In a press statement, Farwana stated that (14) citizens of them had been arrested during the past month after they crossed the eastern and northern borders of the Gaza Strip towards the occupied territories in 1948, and most of them were released and allowed to return to the Strip after being detained for a few hours and interrogated and interrogated.
Farwana pointed out that the occupation army’s treatment of Palestinian infiltrators who were arrested during the past month is very similar to the events that preceded it since the start of the Corona crisis in the region, where the infiltrators were released and allowed to return to the Strip through random and informal points after they were detained for a few hours and questioned and investigated. He pointed out that the occupation forces arrested Muhammad Tayseer Salim Sawali (35 years), from Khan Yunis governorate, south of the Gaza Strip, via the Beit Hanoun / Erez checkpoint, after he had obtained a traffic permit, heading to al-Mutala ´Hospital in Jerusalem for treatment of colon cancer. In detention, which brought the number of detainees across the aforementioned checkpoint to (10) citizens since the beginning of this year.
Farwana warned against the continuation of these practices and the repetition of arrests across the aforementioned checkpoint and the exploitation of the citizens´ need to cross the Beit Hanoun / Erez crossing, turning it into an arrest trap and turning it into a place of pressure and extortion, which disrupts the movement of citizens and constitutes a serious threat to the lives and conditions of the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip, especially the sick.
