Furwana: The occupation has arrested 25 infiltrators from Gaza since the beginning of the year

Abdel Nasser Farwana, a specialist in prisoners and liberated affairs, said today, Tuesday, that the Israeli occupation forces have arrested (25) citizens of the Gaza Strip since the beginning of this year.

He explained that these people were arrested after crossing the eastern or northern borders of the Gaza Strip, and they are what are known as (infiltrators), and that more than half of them were arrested during the months of March and last April.

He noted that for the first time in more than two years, no cases of "infiltrators" were recorded in May.

At the same time, he pointed out that the occupation forces arrested three citizens of the Strip during the past month, including two fishermen, and a third journalist upon his return to the Strip after a medical trip from Jordan via the Beit Hanoun checkpoint, "Erez".

"A difference was observed in the treatment of the occupation forces for the Palestinian youth who arrested them on the Gaza border during the month of April, when they were released after a few hours of detention, interrogation and investigation, and they were returned to the Strip through random and unofficial points, although some of the infiltrated youths had knives and materials Incendiary, and this behavior raised fears and fear that the Corona virus could be transmitted to the Gaza Strip through them. "

He pointed out that this was taking place at a time when attacks are intensifying and arrests are increasing in Jerusalem and the West Bank without regard to the dangers of the epidemic.

Farwana stressed the need to work to stop indiscriminate "infiltration" operations, because of the damages and risks to the individual and society, especially since the end of all "infiltrators" was detention, and that all of those arrested were subjected to abuse, investigation, torture and sometimes pressure and extortion.
