Erekat calls on the world to recognize Palestine and take immediate measures to curb the annexation

The Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat, called on all countries of the world to turn their positions rejecting the Israeli annexation plan into a practical reality by creating political realities at the international level, and immediately beginning to take serious measures to prevent them.

Erekat called, during separate diplomatic meetings with representatives of the European Union and a number of countries in the world, today, Thursday, to hold the occupation accountable and hold it accountable for its violations of international law, impose sanctions on Israel, ban settlement products, and take the necessary legal measures against companies complicit in the colonial settlement project, Implementing Security Council Resolution 2334 in all dealings with Israel, and recognizing the state of Palestine on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Erekat reviewed the overall political situation in Palestine and the region, the steps taken by the Palestinian leadership to stop the agreements with Israel in light of its denial of the signed agreements and the announcement of its government to annex large parts of the territory of the state of Palestine, stressing the need for the world´s countries to support the Palestinian movement at various levels, including in the International Criminal Court And international organizations.

He called for the necessity to review the current agreements with Israel and ensure that they do not violate the terms of respect for human rights, warning that allowing Israel to proceed with the project of imposing "Greater Israel" will not only destroy the foundations of international order, international legitimacy and a two-state solution, but also threaten global peace and security, and will drag the region into a spiral Never ending violence.
