 The Prime Minister of the Israeli government, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced today, Thursday, the construction of 2,200 new housing units in Jabal Abu Ghneim, on top of which is the Har Homa settlement.

Netanyahu said that the settlement was established in 1997 and its population today is 40,000, indicating that the additional units will allow the absorption of ten thousand additional people in the settlement.

He also announced the approval of plans to build 4,000 units in the Givat Hamtus settlement, south of Jerusalem: one thousand for the Palestinians and three thousand for the Jews.

He added: "We are working on connecting all parts of a united Jerusalem, we have removed the borders ... they are talking while we are doing." According to the announcement published by the newspaper "Haaretz", the project will be built on about 1,200 dunams to include between 6,900 and 9,000 settlement units. In addition to commercial centers with an area of ​​300 thousand square meters, and 45 thousand square meters will be allocated to "operating areas", a hotel, water tanks and other facilities.

The occupation authorities have announced a plan aimed at establishing a settlement neighborhood on the lands of Jerusalem International Airport, "Qalandia Airport."
