The Tunisian Interior Ministry said on Wednesday that its security services succeeded in uncovering an organization that it described as "the terrorist", consisting of 8 people, and the seizure of weapons and explosives.
The ministry, in a statement on its official website, said that the National Unit for Research on Terrorism Crimes in the General Department of the competent national security services "in coordination with the regional area of ​​national security Sidi Bouzid and the specialized departments, to reveal a structured terrorist organization."
In this statement, the organization has the name "Battalion of Jihad and Unification", which is a "division of roles, and it has been possible to stop most of its elements and thwart its terrorist schemes, including targeting patrols and security headquarters in the area."
In the course of the operation, the terrorist organization "seized an explosive belt, a hand grenade, a traditional hand grenade, and explosives."
She confirmed that all elements of this organization were transferred to the Public Prosecutor´s Office in the Judicial Complex to combat terrorism.
