US President Donald Trump said that the Senate´s decision to drop the isolation issue was "a great victory for us", this came during a speech in Washington after the Senate dropped the issue of his dismissal.
He stated that "from the first day, the Democrats were aware that we were innocent, but they continued."
Democrat Adam Schiff was accused of corruption and making things up.
Trump added: "(Senator) Tim Scott was the first to contact me and said I hadn´t done anything."
He praised Senator Mitch McConnell and said he did a fantastic job, and he understood that this (isolation issue) was a corrupt policy.
In a state of pride, Trump raised newspapers with headlines declaring his name clear.
On Wednesday, the Senate cleared Trump of accusations of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, allowing him to remain in office.
The Democrats did not achieve the two-thirds majority required to oust the Republican president, which would put an official end to the three-week-long, divisive isolation trial that was only the third in American history.
