21 citizens died, on Thursday evening, as a result of a fire that broke out in a citizen´s house in the town of Tal Al-Zaatar, east of Jabalia camp, in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to local sources, the fire broke out in the house of Dr. Maher Abu Raya´s family, which consists of several floors, and was concentrated on the third floor of it.
The sources pointed out that large civil defense teams worked to put out the fire, which lasted for about an hour.
According to the Ministry of Interior in Gaza, preliminary investigations indicate that there is a large quantity of benzene stored inside the house, which led to a huge fire.
The ministry said that all those inside the house died and there were no injuries.
She indicated that investigations are continuing and an investigation committee has been formed to find out the circumstances of what happened.
