The deputy spokesperson for the United Nations, Farhan Haq, said that the border crossings with Gaza are closed, which has led to a reduction in electricity generation.
Haq explained, during a press conference, that this closure prevented the scheduled entry of about 600 trucks loaded with vital commodities, such as food, medical supplies and fuel, and expressed his hope that "this problem will be resolved soon."
Haq said that one of the results of the closure of the crossings was the inability to enter fuel into Gaza, which forced the power plant in the Strip to reduce its operations, adding that the provision of electricity in Gaza has now been reduced to 12 hours per day, on average, until the necessary fuel is secured.
In addition, the UN Security Council will hold tonight a closed consultation session on the aggression on Gaza, during which members will listen to a briefing by the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Winsland.
It is noteworthy that about thirteen houses were completely and partially destroyed by missiles of the occupation warplanes in different areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in Gaza City and Rafah in the south of the Strip, where 10 houses and apartments were completely and partially destroyed during the first day of the aggression, in addition to the total destruction of three civilian vehicles. Complete.
The occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip continues for the second day, leaving 21 martyrs and 64 wounded, most of them children and women, some of them with critical and serious wounds, in addition to the destruction of apartments, houses, private properties, sites and agricultural lands.
