The start of a march to raise the Palestinian flags in Qalqilya

The Palestinian flag-raising march began today, Saturday, at the eastern entrance to the city of Qalqilya, emphasizing its symbolism in the face of the flags march organized by settlers in occupied Jerusalem tomorrow.

The march was organized at the invitation of the governorate and municipality of Qalqilya and the Fatah movement, with the aim of highlighting the Palestinian identity in our cities and towns.

The participants went to the entrance to the city of Qalqilya and raised the Palestinian flag at the entrance to the city, and emphasized the sanctity of this flag for which the martyrs sacrificed.

Major General Rafeh Rajbeh, Governor of Qalqilya Governorate, Mahmoud Waweel, Secretary of the Fatah Region, Faisal Shreim, Mayor of the Governorate, Tariq Shawar, President of the Chamber of Commerce, and activists from the governorate participated in the march.

The governor called on the Palestinian people to confront the march of Israeli flags and raise the Palestinian flag in all areas to confront the arrogance and provocation of the settlers´ gangs.

For his part, Lowell warned against committing any foolishness by allowing the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by organizing the terrorist “march of flags”, stressing that this scheme “is like a powder keg that will explode and ignite the entire region, calling on our people to rally around the Palestinian flag for which the martyrs sacrificed.

The mayor of Qalqilya said, "We are raising the Palestinian flag today to confirm the sanctity of this flag for which the martyrs were sacrificed, and we are here to express our people´s rejection of the occupation policies of Judaization, destruction and organized killing, and to confront the racism of this hateful occupation."

In this context, calls were issued in all governorates to consider tomorrow, Sunday, the "Palestinian Flag Day", and to raise the Palestinian flag over every house, square, street, and in every place, especially in the city of Jerusalem, to confront the so-called Israeli "flags march."
