Today, Tuesday, the Indian representative signed four agreements for quick-impact projects to be implemented through local partnerships with the municipalities of Bitunya, Ramallah and Aqraba, and the Young Scientists Forum, within India´s development partnership with Palestine and the framework of quick-impact projects.
During an official ceremony organized at the headquarters of the Indian Representation, the Ambassador of India, Sunil Kumar, signed memoranda of understanding with the Mayor of Beitunia Rabhi Dawla, Ramallah Mayor Musa Hadid, the mayor of Aqraba Ghalib Mayadamah, and the President of the Young Scholars Club Walid Theeb.
The Government of India will provide financial assistance worth two hundred thousand dollars to rehabilitate Yasser Arafat Square in Ramallah, establish a nursery in Beitunia, establish a children´s park in Aqraba, and support programs for integrating technology in education with the Young Scientists Forum.
Kumar affirmed that the bilateral relations between the two countries will reach new heights as they are based on bonds of friendship, goodwill and respect, and that India will continue its support for Palestine and partnership with it in its development efforts.
It is noteworthy that the Indian government provides multiple partnership programs for Palestine, including development aid and projects worth $ 70 million in important sectors such as education, institution building, health, capacity building, and women´s empowerment.
