The death toll from earthquakes and tsunamis in central Indonesia´s Sulawesi province on Friday rose to 1249 and 799 others, a government disaster management official said here Tuesday .
"At least 152 people are believed to be still buried under the wreckage of the buildings," said Stobo Boru Noroh, spokesman for the National Disaster Management Agency (NSA) department.
Three telecom operators resumed their services in the province, the spokesman added.
The spokesman reiterated that planes that could land on a 2,000-metre-long runway, tents, water treatment tools, field hospitals and medical teams were essential assistance needed by the affected areas.
To date, a total of 26 foreign countries and two international organizations have provided relief assistance to the Government of Indonesia, Stobo said.
A total of 122 foreign nationals were evacuated from earthquake-affected areas, the spokesman said.
Many of the powerful and shallow earthquakes, which ranged from 6.0 to 7.4 and 6.1 degrees, were destroyed, followed by the tsunami in the Central Sulawesi province and the hardest hit area was Palo, the provincial capital, and the Dongala region.
The tsunami, which reached a height of 0.5 to 3 metres, destroyed coastal areas near Talisa Beach in Palo and the Dongala region, according to the Meteorological and Geophysics Agency.
Indonesia is an earthquake-prone region, located in an earthquake-affected region known as the Pacific fiery ring.

قال مسؤول ÙÙŠ إدارة الكوارث الØكومية هنا اليوم (الثلاثاء) إن Øصيلة قتلى الزلازل والتسونامي الناجم عنها ÙÙŠ مقاطعة سولاويسى وسط إندونيسيا يوم الجمعة ارتÙعت إلى 1249 وأصيب 799 أخرون.
وقال ستوبو بورو نوغروه المتØدث باسم إدارة الوكالة الوطنية لإدارة الكوارث إن هناك 152 شخصا على الأقل يعتقد انهم مازالوا مدÙونين تØت Øطام المباني.
وأضا٠المتØدث أن ثلاثة من مشغلى الاتصالات استأنÙوا خدماتهم ÙÙŠ المقاطعة.
وأكد المتØدث مرة أخرى ان الطائرات التي يمكن ان تهبط على مدرج قصير بطول 2000 متر والخيام وأدوات معالجة المياه والمستشÙيات الميدانية والÙرق الطبية تعد مساعدات ضرورية تØتاجها المناطق المنكوبة.
ÙˆØتى الآن، قدمت اجمالي 26 دولة أجنبية ومنظمتان دوليتان مساعدات اغاثة Ù„Øكومة إندونيسيا، بØسب ستوبو.
وتم إجلاء إجمالي 122 مواطنا أجنبيا من المناطق التي تأثرت بالزلازل، ÙˆÙقا للمتØدث.
ودمرت العديد من الزلازل القوية والضØلة التى تراوØت قوتها ما بين 6.0 Ùˆ 7.4 Ùˆ 6.1 درجة وتلتها أمواج تسونامي مقاطعة سولاوسي بوسط البلاد وكانت المنطقة الأكثر تضررا هي بالو عاصمة المقاطعة ومنطقة دونجالا.
ودمر التسونامي الذي بلغ ارتÙاعه من 0.5 إلى ثلاثة امتار مناطق ساØلية بالقرب من شاطئ تاليسا ÙÙŠ مدينة بالو ومنطقة دونجالا، ÙˆÙقا لوكالة الأرصاد والجيوÙيزياء.
وتعد إندونيسيا منطقة معرضة Ù„Øدوث الزلازل، Øيث تقع ÙÙŠ منطقة سريعة التأثر بالزلازل تعر٠باسم Øلقة الباسيÙيك النارية.
