Turkish authorities announced on Saturday the death toll of the collapse of a building in Istanbul to 16 people.
Last Wednesday, an 8-storey building collapsed in the Qaratal area of ​​the Asian section of Istanbul. In a press statement from the site of the damaged building, Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Suwailo said the rescue teams had recovered two other bodies, one for a 1.5-year-old girl, bringing the number to 16. He noted that search and rescue operations have been going on for 58 hours. Search and rescue teams continue to search for survivors in the area, while the Istanbul Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into the collapse of the building.
