British police have arrested a former Conservative minister after a woman accused him of rape, sexual assault and forced control of her, according to local news reports.
The British Guardian newspaper reported that the London Metropolitan Police confirmed that they had opened an investigation into four incidents that occurred between July 2019 and January 2020 in different locations in the city.
Police said a "man in his fifties" was put in custody early yesterday, and he was still in a police station in east London last night, without revealing his name.
The former minister and a member of the current parliament face allegations from a woman who was reportedly employed in Parliament, who assaulted her several times.
The woman says that the MP assaulted her, forced her to have sex, left her with a severe shock, and had to go to the hospital.
