Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström said her country is ready to host un-sponsored talks between the warring parties in Yemen.
"We have received an inquiry from the United Nations on the possibility that the country could be a place where the UN envoy could bring the parties together," Wallström told Swedish Radio during a visit to the Norwegian capital Oslo.
"We have to remember that this is the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world, and we have always supported--in the European Union and the United Nations--the efforts of Martin Griffith, the UN envoy for Yemen, and it is good to try to make an effort to arrange political talks," she said.
Wallström refused to comment on the date of the negotiations, saying the operation was supposed to start after a cessation of hostilities.
