Somali police said that about a hundred people were killed in a car bomb explosion in Mogadishu on Saturday morning.
"So far, about a hundred people have been killed in this terrible attack," said police officer Ahmed Bashani.
Zahir Alami, an official at a hospital in "Shafi" in Mogadishu, confirmed the death of eight people and the injury of more.
Another hospital called "Madina" had already reported 73 deaths.
Bashani said that there are other hospitals that have received dead and injured victims.
The car bomb exploded at a busy intersection on the southwestern side of Mogadishu.
