The Committee to Support Journalists said that data published by Adalah showed that the demands made by the Cyber Unit of the Israeli government against Palestinian content increased in 2018 by 600 percent.
Adalah reported that during the past year, social media sites deleted 14,000 Palestinian publications under pressure from the Israeli cyber. He explained: "The companies responded to the requests of the Israeli Cyber Unit and deleted the Palestinian content, where about 90 percent of the content requested by the unit was deleted, either completely or partially." The Committee to Support Palestinian Journalists strongly condemned the submission of Internet service providers to delete Palestinian content after pressure from the Israeli government on Facebook, Google, YouTube and Twitter. The committee pointed out that the Palestinian content is being pursued while the Israeli pages are full of hate speech, racism and incitement to killings towards Palestinians and Arabs. She pointed out that the Facebook administration specifically deleted hundreds of Palestinian accounts and pages during 2018 and 2019 as a result of the pressure exerted by the occupation. However, "at the same time, it did not delete any of the Israeli pages that incite and racism." She explained that there are illegal and unethical standards practiced by Facebook management towards the Palestinian content when you delete it permanently in violation of the standards for which the site launched Facebook.
