Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on the American administration to play an active role in curbing the Israeli aggression against our land and our people, stopping settlements and preserving the two-state solution in light of Israel’s systematic destruction of the possibility of implementing it.
This came during his discussion with the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs at the US State Department, Barbara Leaf, about the success of the donor conference scheduled to be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Shtayyeh stressed that there is an urgent need for American pressure on Israel to enable us to hold general elections, including Jerusalem, which is essential for the Palestinian people.
He stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Palestine and the United States, leading to recognition of the Palestinian state, again calling on the American administration to fulfill its promises towards Palestine.
