Settlers cut down dozens of perennial olive trees southwest of Bethlehem

Settlers cut down, on Friday, dozens of perennial olive trees in the lands of Al-Jab´a village, southwest of Bethlehem.

The head of al-Jaba’a village council, Diab Masha’leh, told our correspondent that settlers cut down dozens of olive trees over 60 years old in “Saqfan al-Dabaa” area of “Wadi al-Watout” lands southeast of the village, owned by Rifaat Hassan al-Tus.

Mashaleh added that the citizens were not able to access the land to limit the number of felled trees, as the Israeli occupation authorities prevent the owners of the land from entering it except twice a year when plowing and pruning the trees, and the other while picking the fruits.

It is noteworthy that the village of Al-Jabaa is subjected to a settler attack, represented by burning and cutting down trees, seizing and razing areas of land.
