The Israeli army closed the town of Qalqilya on Saturday with tight military barriers at the eastern entrance, the main entrance to the city, and closed the entrance to the southern tunnel linking the city to the town of Habla and southern villages.
Eyewitnesses reported: The closure of the city from the southern and eastern region coincided to prevent the movement back and forth, and the soldiers stopped the vehicles and prevented movement under the pretext of inspection and scrutiny, and this closure led to the paralysis of commercial traffic in the city, and prevented shoppers from the cities of the Palestinian interior entering and shopping from the city.
The city´s merchants considered these military barriers an occupying measure aimed at preventing shoppers from outside the city from entering it, and increasing the city´s blockade of the wall and bypass roads.
