Near-Earth asteroids are among the most dangerous space components closely watched by space agencies around the world.
The European Space Agency pays special attention to the asteroid named 2019 SU3, which could hit Earth about 70 years from now.
This asteroid was recently added to the ESA´s Earth Risks List due to the possibility of a collision with Earth on 16 September 2084.
"The list of hazards is an index of things that have been discovered and are dangerous to our planet," the European Space Agency (ESA) wrote on its website.
The SU32019 has also become a priority for the European Space Agency, which has been prepared "to monitor particularly newly discovered objects in a ladder of four dangers: urgent, necessary, useful and low priority."
The European Space Agency (ESA) said that 2019 SU3 is expected to enter within the range of 0.00079 astronomical units, which is about 73 thousand miles from crossing the Earth, before colliding with it in 2084.
Near-Earth objects are tracked by NASA´s Center for Near-Earth Studies.
NASA is also interested in tracking the 2019 SU3, but its data only expires until 2077, seven years ahead of the European Space Agency.
According to the 2018 report prepared by Planetary.org, there are more than 18,000 NEOs.
