Samsung announced a new processor that it has developed to work with mid-range phones that are able to connect to 5G cellular networks.
The company indicated that its new processor Exynos 880 was developed with (8 nm) technology, and it depends on its performance on 8 cores, 6 Cortex-A55 cores operating at a frequency of 1.8 GHz, and two nodes of the type Cortex-A77 with a frequency of up to 2 GHz.
This processor can provide connectivity with cellular 5G networks via a built-in sub-6GHz modem, which provides data download speeds of up to 1.2Gbps.
The new processor also contains a Mali-G76 MP5 graphics processing chip, and allows cameras for devices and smartphones in which it works to document videos accurately (2520/1080) pixels, and can deal with camera phones that come with 64-megapixel resolution, as well as its ability to deal with LPDDR4X random access memory, eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 internal storage.
Samsung´s announcement of this processor coincides with the announcement of the Chinese company vivo for its latest phone, the Y70s 5G, which depends on this type of processor, and is expected to be put on the market this year.
