Samsung plans to launch a new foldable phone in February

Samsung Electronics is slated to launch a new foldable smartphone in February, ahead of its flagship Galaxy S11 release next year, according to company sources.

The South Korean Yonhap News Agency quoted the sources as saying that the South Korean technology giant is currently in talks with the country´s three mobile phone companies to launch its second locally foldable smartphone within the country, with a view to launching it in February.

The sources added that the company will organize its event in the United States in mid-February, as it will provide more details about the new foldable phone. The foldable model will be available for sale at an expected price of approximately $ 1,000.

Samsung Electronics declined to comment on the date for the release of the new foldable smartphone.

Earlier this year, the company released its Galaxy Fold phone, which has a 7.3-inch screen that users can fold like a book.

It is expected that the new smartphone, whose name has not been confirmed yet, will be equipped with a 6.7-inch screen.
