Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Monday called on prison crackdowns and the administration to tighten the iron grip on Palestinian prisoners.
This came during his visit to Ofer prison near Ramallah, where he met with the leadership of the prison and took photographs with the leaders of the repression forces that were brought to the prisons for fear of a prisoner strike.
Rivlin said what was happening in the prisons as "terrorism" joins the efforts of Hamas to harm Israel by firing rockets and others. Praising the security campaign to detect mobile phones smuggled to prisons.
He said that the term "jailers" was misleading. "You are courageous fighters stationed on the front line along the security forces, you are our protective wall."
The prisoner movement confirmed that the prisoners were closer to entering the strike, than any other possibility, and that the coming hours were crucial.
