A group of 64 migrants landed in Malta on Thursday afternoon after being rescued off the Mediterranean island, officials said.
A spokesman for the armed forces in Malta told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that a patrol boat intercepted the small boat late Wednesday night.
The migrants, all men, appeared to be in good health as they left the boat at 4 pm local time (1400 GMT).
Hundreds of migrants fleeing Libya to Malta arrived in 2019, while Italian right-wing deputy Prime Minister Mathieu Salveni refuses to dock humanitarian rescue vessels in his country.
This came as the rescue ship "Sea Watch 3" German water entered the Italian on Wednesday despite the threat of Salveni a large fine.
